For me, the highlight of my year was publishing Amanda Moonstone: The Missing Prince my magical Young Adult novel – which so far has had some pretty positive feedback. Originally published through Paper Crane Books, I unfortunately had to part with them, but Amanda has been going strong. Thankfully I’m still in touch with the guys with Paper Crane Books so it’s not all bad.
The other major spilt that happened this year was when me and my artist for the Draconica series parted ways. Having worked together for so many years on this series, this was quite a big blow to me – but in the end I think we both had to do what was best for each other. As a result, the Draconica series had to be taken off sale. That was a choice I decided to make and it wasn’t easy – but ultimately it was the right thing to do.
One of the main reasons for taking Draconica off sale (breakup with artist aside) was that, reading them back, they had a few issues which needed to be sorted. So for the last few months I have been going through them with a fine tooth comb – taking on all the feedback that had been given to me, whilst at the same time amending various things that I felt needed addressing. And I’m pleased to say that, starting next year, the new and improved Draconica series will be released! I want to thank you all for your patience in this and I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
The release schedule for the Draconica series is as follows.
Trapped on Draconica – March 2016
Legacy of the Dragonkin – June 2016
Final Ragnarok: She Returns – September 2016
Untitled Fourth Novel – December 2016
Yep, you read that right – as well as releasing the Draconica series throughout the year, I will also release the FINAL novel in the Draconica series. Originally titled He Returns, I will be releasing it under a different title, which will be revealed in due course.
In case any of you are wondering what will happen with novels like All Hail Emperor Gothon and Taurok’s War, I’m still deciding what to do with those novels at the moment – but I’ll make sure they don’t get left behind.
I am also working on a sequel to Amanda Moonstone: The Missing Prince, which should be out either next year or the year after. Still working on a release date for that at the moment – but I’ll update you on that as things happen.
Another big announcement is that, starting from next year, me and my author buddy Morgan Straughan Comnick will be starting a new YouTube channel called Moon Panda Power – this is a new podcast series where me and Morgan will be looking at everything that interest us, everything from Anime to Power Rangers! We’ll hopefully be starting the first video in that series early January. Keep an eye on YouTube!
I also am aware that I have been really crap in updating this blog, so I’ve decided that I need to update it a lot more in the new year. I’ll work on that guys, I promise.
Of course, I’ll have to try and find a way to fit this around real life and work – but I’m sure I can do it somehow. Where there is a will there’s a way after all!
Thanks to everyone for your support and patience. I wish all of you a very Happy New Year and wish nothing but happiness for you all. Take care guys. See you in the new year!
